One of the best ways to go about test riding a bike is to attend a manufacturer road show. Generally low-stress affairs, such events afford an opportunity to ride several of a manufacturers’ models without being given the hard sell that can sometimes come with a more traditional test ride.
Ducati’s 2018 Roadshow is already underway, having kicked off back in March in Cardiff, but somehow I didn’t hear about it, so I’ll have to plan a road trip to catch it elsewhere.
Fortunately, the show will be hitting several locations in the United Kingdom and Ireland over the next few months, all the way through to September. It’s a good way to get a real sense of the brand, as well as better develop your own sense of the type of bikes you like. For example, you may see yourself as a sportbike guy or gal, but then hop on a Scrambler and suddenly think: “Oh, hold on! This is so much better!” Or vice versa.
